DUO GIVES BACK

As a proud member of London’s community, we feel strongly about giving back and supporting a number of charities and community groups. Contributing either through funds, time, or support (often all three), we continue to diversify our involvement while maintaining our commitment to past organizations. We currently support the following deserving non-profit organizations:

DUO proudly partners with the StopGap Foundation to build accessibility ramps for single-step storefronts in the London community and help raise awareness about barriers in our urban environment.

Unity Project

The UNITY PROJECT provides emergency shelter and transitional housing with a peer-supported community model. They offer front-line support staff that are accessible 24/7…365 days a year, and work one-to-one with each resident to monitor and advance a personal action plan for stability and independence.

DUO has supported the UNITY PROJECT for over 8 years, and Pat Malloy volunteers his time on an ongoing basis as a board member. Recently, Pat helped organize a major fundraiser for dentists to help the homeless. Over $75,000 was raised to restore the Victorian Facade of the UNITY PROJECT residence. DUO also donated all of their time and materials used in the re-build at cost.

Cancer Survivors Garden

The Cancer Survivors Garden at McKillop Park opened officially on June 3, 2012 – National Cancer Survivors Day and is located at the corner of Wonderland Road and Riverside. The garden will serve not only as a place of celebration, but as a place of inspiration and hope for the families just starting their journey.

Zoltan Balogh co-ordinated DUO’s staff members and trades in being involved with the layout and building of the railings and stone work in the garden.

Kids Teams

We are proud of our work and of the long-term relationships we have developed with our clients. With 35 years renovating homes and offices in London and the surrounding area, we look forward to developing new projects and meeting new clients.

We started off with sponsoring our own kid’s teams and then as they grew, we sponsored our clients’ children’s teams in both soccer and hockey over the years.

Parade of Renovations

Organized by the LHBA, the Parade of Renovations is in its 25th year. We’re the only London renovator to participate in the parade since its creation. The parade promotes the local renovation industry and also raises funds for local charities through ticket sales to tour the projects.

The parade is a wonderful opportunity to let London residents see local renovations. You can often visit show homes to see newly built model homes any time, but you don’t get to see what renovators do.
