Parade of Renovations By: DuoBuilding

October 1, 2010

It’s that time of year again! This Sunday commences the 20th annual LHBA Parade of Renovations. You might have seen our cover feature in this past Sunday’s Home Section of the London Free Press. As noted, we have participated in the Parade every year since its inception.

New this year you will find a suggested Parade Passport fee of $10. All of the proceeds will go directly to London’s Cancer Survivor Garden being constructed by LHBA and Reno Council. Truly a great cause and one that we hope you come out to support.

Look for our two projects this year, one in Old South at 30 Marley Place, and the other in Lambeth at 41 Scottsdsale St.

30 Marley Place
Our greenest project to date. If you come out on Sunday you’ll find our addition to this Old South family home to include a green roof, rain water harvesting system, recycled denim insulation & more! Plus the outdoor spaces we created in collaboration with the clients turned out to be a beautiful oasis in the city. Roof top patio’s and roof gardens make great use of the additions flat roofs.

In Lambeth, this renovation added 300 sq. ft. of living space to the existing home, giving the owners an open-concept kitchen-family room combo. Additional features include installation of bamboo flooring and a gas fireplace. The back of the house was also opened up to better enjoy the view of the backyard. More pictures available of this project available at our website under kitchens in the Renovation Gallery.
